We don’t wait for the future — we build it. At Clavium, we’re a forward-thinking software company, creating cutting-edge digital asset management platforms. With offices in London, Málaga and Madrid, we’re building products that give customers maximum security, sovereignty, and control over their digital assets. We operate as a lean and innovative organisation: bringing brilliant solutions to market - using cutting edge, cloud-native technologies.
If you’re passionate about shaping the future of blockchain infrastructure, collaborating with smart, curious colleagues, and making an impact from day one - we’d love to hear from you.
About You
We’re looking for a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Architect who thrives in a collaborative environment. You’re curious and inventive, with a natural drive to explore new ideas and turn them into meaningful outcomes. You enjoy tackling complex challenges, working across disciplines, and contributing to projects that push the boundaries of what’s possible in our GCP environment.
You thrive in an international and forward-thinking setting and are passionate about shaping the future of digital products and services. You combine creativity with rigour: transforming concepts into real impact for our customers.
Purpose:
Lead the product mindset for our internal cloud platform (GCP first with incremental use of AWS), turning business goals into actionable platform roadmaps and architectures.
Reporting line:
Reports to the Principal Architect (Architecture function). Works closely with the Head of Security & Engineering and the Platform Product Owner.
What you'll do
Shape and prioritise the cloud platform backlog with the Platform PO, balancing speed, risk and value for internal customers.
Run lightweight discovery/PoCs on GCP and AWS; recommend adoption supported by clear guardrails and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.
Create and maintain reusable patterns, standards and how to guides, keeping our architecture knowledge organised and easy to consume.
Design and develop comprehensive cloud solution architectures initially on GCP and then multi-cloud, aligning with business objectives, technical requirements, and industry best practices.
Lead the architectural design of complex cloud-native applications, including networking design and migration strategies for existing workloads to GCP.
Participate in architecture governance by reviewing solution proposals, technology designs, implementation plans, and related artefacts for alignment, feasibility, and adherence to standards.
Contribute to database and data warehousing strategies, including information life cycle management, information governance, classification, data and networking security.
Assist Security team with the development of a secure by design framework to ensure our DevSecOps practices and tooling meet our security and compliance requirements.
Design and govern the implementation of robust security controls and compliance frameworks within GCP and other cloud environments (e.g., IAM, data encryption, network security, security command center).
Work closely with product teams to define solution requirements, communicate designs, and ensure solutions align with business objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a framework for resiliency of our platforms to establish recovery point objectives, recovery time objectives and availability targets.
Extensive experience in software development or platform engineering, with at least 5 years in a cloud architecture role. Ideally with 2 years focused on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Expertise in core GCP service offerings: Compute, Storage & Databases, Networking, Security, Management & Operations
Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform and/or OpenTofu
Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Node.js).
Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, VPNs).
Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with agile methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical, hands-on problem solver who simplifies complexity and has a bias to action.
As a Cloud Architect, you will have strong technical skills and extensive experience ideally with financial products and systems, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. You will be able to mentor and coach other team members, foster a culture of trust and collaboration and interact with other teams and stakeholders across the organisation.
