About You

What you'll do
Build, test and deploy platform agnostic infrastructure and applications using CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code
Monitor and administer the business's virtual server infrastructure in a multi-location environment based on Linux OS running in OpenStack and GCP.
Support engineering teams helping them to become high performing, autonomous teams. This applies to DevOps culture, processes, principles and behaviors.
Work closely with Software development, Architecture and Security teams to support product related development
Assist with setup/maintenance of environments for both manual and automated testing
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents and emergencies in a timely manner. Working alongside Customer Service Desk and Software Engineers and assist with conducting root cause analysis and post mortems.
Contribute to maintaining a knowledge base of platform related processes and technologies
Invest in the continuous self-development and learning culture and apply the learnings in day-to-day work.
Assist in conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the day-to-day change management
Participate in the contingency planning and disaster recovery procedures, including reliable backup and restore procedures
A strong and deep level of understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment concepts and tools, including SCMs (Git), CI servers (Bamboo, Gitlab), build tools (Maven, Gradle), binary repositories (Nexus, Artifactory) and code quality tools (SonarQube). Experience with theGitlab is desirable.
Strong experience working with Kubernetes clusters and observability tools such as Fluentd, Kibana, Logstash, Prometheus and Grafana.
Familiar with containerisation (Docker) and virtualisation (VMWare, Vagrant, VirtualBox) technologies.
Knowledge in Public and Private clouds and virtualization platforms: OpenStack, Google Cloud Platform and AWS
Experience with Infrastructure as a code principle using technology such as Terraform, Ansible
Equipped with basic programming know-how – including an understanding of code and coding concepts – plus advanced knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby...).
Familiar with software development, including concepts, current technologies and frameworks.
Linux administration skills and knowledge about network diagnostics and services.
Ability to work outside of normal business hours when needed, including international travel to office locations within the UK and Europe.
Ability to meet project deadlines and work well under pressure.
Full English proficiency, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities of this role include enabling DevOps principles, improving automation processes, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development, system administration, infrastructure design and a passion for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
